The Adult First Aid/CPR/AED course is approximately six hours of classroom instruction to include hands on practical application. This course is designed to teach students to recognize and care for a variety of first aid emergencies such as burns, cuts, scrapes, sudden illness, head, neck, back injuries, heat and cold emergencies and how to respond to breathing and cardiac emergencies to help victims approximately 12 years of age and older.
To teach the knowledge and skills needed to give immediate care to an injured or ill person and to decide whether advanced medical care is needed.

Lesson III: Cardiac emergencies
Lesson IV: Choking
Lesson V: Sudden Illness
Lesson VI: Traumatic Injuries
Lesson VII: Environmental Injuries and Illnesses
Students are required to bring:
American Red Cross First Aid/CPR/AED Participants manual
Adult First Aid/CPR/AED Ready Reference
All other training materials will be provided by Teaching Defense.
Upon successful completion, students will receive a digital certificate for Adult First Aid/CPR/AED valid for two years. Digital certificates can be viewed, printed, or shared online and can be accessed anytime through your Red Cross Account.
