Basic Shotgun

This course is approximately 10 hours in length; entailing classroom, range time, and breaks. The Basic Shotgun Course is for inexperienced, novice, and beginner level shooters. The course length will vary depending on the class size and the participants’ abilities to learn and shoot. This class builds a foundation for all new shooters and is the building block for more advanced shotgun training.

Course Goal:
To teach the basic knowledge, skills and attitude necessary for the safe and proper use of a shotgun in shooting a moving target.

Course Outline:
Lesson I: Shotgun Knowledge and Safe Handling
Lesson II: Ammunition Knowledge and the Fundamentals of Shotgun Shooting
Lesson III: Firing the First Shots
Lesson IV: Shotgun and Shooting Skills Practical Exercise
Lesson V: Shotgun Games and Activities

Students are required to provide:
A Shotgun that they are comfortable with, a minimum of 50 rounds of ammunition, hearing and eye protection, as well as pen or pencil with paper to take notes.

* If you do not have your own shotgun and you are using this course to learn the firearm prior to buying one, Teaching Defense will provide one for you. Let us know at the time of registration so we can reserve a shotgun for your class. *

All course materials, range time, and targets will be provided by Teaching Defense.

Basic Shotgun Course is a pre-register class and a non-refundable fee of 50 dollars is due prior to the course date.
